Over the past 4 years we've been working on construction of a 7000 sq ft house and studio for hosting retreats and workshops to do with photography, pottery, scrapbooking, homesteading, and other interests.
This enormous endevour is being constructed from straw bale and reclaimed and found building materials. It
is being constructed without the use of general contractors, a limited
amount of trades people , and strictly cash - no mortgage!
We love feedback on what we are doing and encourage you to not only browse through the stories and journals we share here, but send us an email or comment on our blogs about what you see.
Look for the heart behind what we do and why we do it...you might just jump on board :)
To
help automate and manage the amount of information in our updates,
we've decided to retire this portion of our website and replace it with
a blog site. Construction photos from the beginning up to November 2009
can still be found by following the links above.
Our new blog site can be found at:
In
addition to seeing what building off-grid entails...we've also chosen
to share a bit of our hearts about the struggles and triumphs we face
each day in trying to build a sustainable life and business in rural
Saskatchewan. We hope you enjoy. We enjoy hearing your comments.
