So many ways
to learn: We understand that everyone
learns in different ways. Our goal is to build relationships, have some fun, and
find the best way for you to soak in the information. We strive to give you the type
of environment that will help you learn as simply and quickly as possible.
Workshops: Workshops are an effective way
to soak in mountains of information. This method consists usually of a classroom
setting with several other people. Instruction is given by the teacher to the
whole group. This setting usually sparks conversation and questions from the
group that as an individual, you may have not thought of asking yourself. They
vary in length of time from a half day, whole day, to sometimes two day
sessions. Workshops are a wonderful way to dive into trying something
new.
Private
instruction: Some individuals find it easier
to learn one-on-one with an instructor. This is a great way to learn at your own
pace as well as decide the specific direction of learning. Teaching usually
consists of the instructor explaining the lesson, followed by a demonstration,
then finished with an opportunity for the individual to try as well. Because
there is no set time of learning involved, individuals can move as quickly or as
slowly as they want through the course and the instructor can bend and mold the
teaching to what fits best for your learning
style.
Self teaching through books: Riverstone Studios is currently working
on publishing three workshop books with plans for several more in the future.
Workshop books are a terrific way for people who attend our workshops to retain
what they have learned. They also work well for people who are unable to attend
a workshop by offering a way to learn at home in your own time.
These
books are used as learning tools in both our workshops and private instruction.
If you purchase a book and find you need a bit more coaching, a workshop or a
few private lessons can be added seamlessly to kick start you on your
way.
